SNAM: Special Needs Artistic Movement and Dance Class

Thank you for your interest in our Creative Arts Studio program at Challenge Mountain. 

The Special Needs Artisitc Movement (SNAM) dance program was initiated as an Eagle Scout project by Claire Winnell and continues today as a collaboration with Crooked Tree Arts Center - School of Ballet. The class is an all-inclusive program welcoming those of all abilities and skill levels and this fall session prepares students for the annual “Arts are for Everyone” showcase preformed at the end of our spring session.

Participants gain personnel fulfillment through a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of acceptance that translates positively into their everyday lives. These experiences promote individual and group development, while building social and character skills.

Age Limit: Individuals 13 years and older living with a disability

Location: Crooked Tree Arts Center, Petoskey

Class Schedule and Time: This class starts on October 6 and continues every Monday and Friday until December 12. Class takes place between 12:30pm - 2:00pm. Participants are encourage to attend every session. 

Cost: Thanks to generous donors, dance class is provided for free
