A SPECIAL EVENT!
This ONE-DAY artistic workshop is a collaboration between Challenge Mountain, Char-Em ISD and the Great Lakes Center for the Arts.
Dominic Moore-Dunson’s interactive movement residency invites participants to explore how the body can be used as a powerful tool for storytelling, emotional expression, and connection. This event is accessible to individuals with any disability.
Age Requirement: Must be 18 or Older
Location: Great Lakes Center for the Arts, 800 Bay Harbor Dr, Bay Harbor, MI
Date: Thursday, April 23 | Time: 10 - 11:30am

Through guided movement exercises, facial expression work, rhythm, reflection, and collaborative creation, participants will discover new ways to communicate thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to express through words alone. Rooted in Dominic’s work with The Remember Balloons and his broader practice of dance as community storytelling, these workshops encourage participants to:
● Express identity and lived experience through movement
● Reframe challenges as sources of creativity and strength
● Build empathy through shared physical exploration
● Celebrate differences as unique forms of brilliance
Each workshop is customized for the specific population being served — whether students, elders, healthcare professionals, individuals with special needs, or community members — ensuring a welcoming, accessible, and empowering experience for all participants.
